Not Established; No definitive therapeutic or toxic ranges have been established. Optimal blood drug levels are influenced by type of transplant, patient response, time post-transplant, co-administration of other drugs and drug formulation. The following trough ranges are suggested guidelines:
Kidney Transplant: 100-300 ng/mL
Cardiac Transplant: 200-350 ng/mL
Hepatic Transplant: 200-350 ng/mL

Instructions A trough sample (12 hours after last dose) is recommended for measurement of cyclosporine.

This test has potential interference when a sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R). It is suggested to ask all patients who may be indicated for this test about biotin supplementation. Patients should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.
