| Instructions | For routine monitoring: Fill to the 250 mL line, secure lid, and label the specimen with the barcoded label to identify the source. Specimen should be collected and shipped overnight in a cooler with an ice pack Monday-Friday only.
During outbreak events and/or case investigations: Collection of 1 liter of water is typically recommended. Using a 1-liter sterile bottle/bag with sodium thiosulfate, fill the container to the 1-liter line. Secure the lid and label the container with the barcoded label to identify the source. Specimen should be collected and shipped in a cooler with an ice pack Monday-Friday only. |
