| Instructions | For routine monitoring: Fill to the 250 mL line, secure lid, and label the specimen with the barcoded label to identify the source. Enter the collection time in LabCheck, providing the temperature at the time of collection, biocide, and concentration (if applicable) on the collection label; submit with the specimen. Specimens should be collected and shipped overnight in a cooler with an ice pack, Monday-Friday only. During outbreak events and/or case investigations: Collection of 1 liter of water is typically recommended. Using a 1-liter sterile bottle or bag with sodium thiosulfate, fill the container to the 1-liter mark. Secure the lid and label the container with the barcoded label to identify the source. |
