| Clinical Significance |
Studies report that sdLDL, compared to normal LDL, is more strongly associated with the development of coronary heart disease (CHD). It is reported that people with a predominance of sdLDL have a 3-fold increased risk of myocardial infarction. When used in conjunction with other lipid measurements and clinical evaluations, sdLDL may aid in the risk management of lipoprotein disorders associated with CHD. |
